It has become one of my favourite tools, both personally and with my athletes, for regulating the nervous system and sustaining high-level performance under continuous pressure.

My Zone 2–3 training has become regenerative, whereas it used to leave me exhausted. I felt safe, reconnected, and refocused. A key element for all high-level athletes.
Questions before applying
What level of experience is required?
No prior breathing experience is required. The Oxygen Advantage® Advanced Instructor Certification, Level 1 and Level 2 is designed for healthcare practitioners, coaches, athletes, educators, and motivated individuals seeking a structured and clinically guided approach to respiratory health and performance. It is an instructor-level respiratory training. Participants leave with measurable physiological data, practical skills, and an official certification of completion and attendance.
What clinical measurements are performed?
Participants undergo a comprehensive functional respiratory assessment including BOLT score, Maximum Breath Tolerance (MBT), breathing frequency, breathing pattern analysis, respiratory mechanics, mobility screening, and autonomic regulation markers. Additional assessments such as HRV analysis or Bio-Well evaluation may be available depending on the format.
Is cold exposure part of Oxygen Advantage Protocols?
No. Cold exposure is not part of Oxygen Advantage® Advanced Instructor Certification, Level 1 and Level 2. Participants are introduced to cold adaptation principles and Whim Hoff practical comparison yetitis not trained. The objective is physiological education and advanced adaptation, through functionnal and advanced science backed respiratory porotocols.
How is this different from a Wim Hof retreat?
This certification is grounded in functional breathing, respiratory physiology, and clinical assessment. While exposure and breath training may be combined, the emphasis is placed on respiratory physiliogy, evaluation, protocol design, physiological adaptation, and measurable outcomes rather than peak experiences alone. Participants learn how to assess, apply, and integrate respiratory protocols within health, performance, and professional practice.
Is this supported by scientific research?
The educational framework integrates principles derived from respiratory physiology, exercise science, autonomic regulation, sleep science, and contemporary breathing research. Participants learn how to apply these concepts through structured protocols supported by measurable physiological markers.
Is this suitable for healthcare professionals?
Yes. The certification is particularly relevant for osteopaths, physiotherapists, physicians, psychologists, coaches, wellness and other practitioners seeking a deeper understanding of respiratory function and its influence on health, resilience, recovery, and performance.
What will I be able to apply after the certification ?

Providing a high level of professional recognition within the fitness, coaching, and performance sectors.
The educational framework is internationally recognized in functional breathing and respiratory performance. Upon completion, participants receive the official Oxygen Advantage® Advanced Instructor certification.
What happens if a contraindication is identified?
Participant safety remains the highest priority. Protocols may be adapted, modified, or excluded depending on medical history, current health status, and physiological assessment performed during the immersion. Certain practices involving intensive breath retention or pressure exposure may be contraindicated in cases such as uncontrolled hypertension, cardiovascular instability, epilepsy, severe respiratory pathology, pregnancy, recent major surgery, or other conditions requiring medical clearance. Continuous supervision and individualized adjustments are provided throughout the immersion.
