Testimonials
Auerelien Marchesi

It has become one of my favourite tools, both personally and with my athletes, for regulating the nervous system and sustaining high-level performance under continuous pressure.

Maëlle Launé

My Zone 2–3 training has become regenerative, whereas it used to leave me exhausted. I felt safe, reconnected, and refocused. A key element for all high-level athletes.

FAQ

Questions before applying

What is Oxygen Advantage® Level 1 & 2 Advanced?

The flagship instructor certification within the Oxygen Advantage educational framework. The programme develops expertise in functional breathing assessment, respiratory physiology, CO₂ tolerance training, protocol design, and practical applications for health, performance, recovery, and resilience.

Who is this certification designed for?

Healthcare professionals, coaches, therapists, educators, athletes, and individuals seeking a deeper understanding of functional breathing and respiratory performance. Applications are reviewed individually to ensure suitability for the certification format and learning environment.

Can I attend without prior experience in breathing, coaching, or healthcare?

Yes. While many participants come from healthcare, coaching, or performance backgrounds, prior professional experience is not mandatory. Applicants are evaluated individually based on motivation, learning objectives, and readiness to engage with the educational and practical components.

Do I need to be an athlete to attend?

No. Although Oxygen Advantage® is widely used in sport and athletic performance, the certification is equally relevant for healthcare professionals, coaches, therapists, educators, and health-conscious individuals interested in respiratory health, recovery, resilience, and performance.

What will I be able to assess, apply, and teach after certification?

Participants learn to assess breathing patterns, identify ventilatory dysfunctions, measure CO₂ tolerance, and interpret key respiratory markers including BOLT score and breathing frequency. They develop the ability to apply Oxygen Advantage® protocols across health, performance, recovery, and resilience settings while integrating functional breathing into existing clinical, coaching, athletic, or educational practice. Upon certification, participants are equipped to teach the core principles of functional breathing, respiratory assessment, and Oxygen Advantage® methodologies within their professional scope.

Is this a breathwork certification?

Oxygen Advantage® differs from most breathwork approaches by emphasizing functional breathing, respiratory assessment, CO₂ tolerance, and physiological adaptation. The methodology is grounded in measurable markers, respiratory science, and structured protocols rather than solely experiential breathing practices.

Is Oxygen Advantage® supported by scientific research?

Oxygen Advantage® integrates principles derived from respiratory physiology, exercise science, and breathing research, including work on CO₂ tolerance, oxygen delivery, nasal breathing, autonomic regulation, and respiratory efficiency. Participants learn how to apply these concepts in practical and measurable ways.

Why is the certification held in Corsica?

The Corsican mountain environment provides ideal conditions for applying functional breathing principles in real-world settings. Terrain, elevation, and prolonged outdoor exposure support experiential learning, physiological adaptation, and supervised protocol implementation beyond the classroom.

What is included in the certification fee?

Tuition includes access to the 100-hour e-learning curriculum, three days of on-site immersion in Corsica, assessments, course materials, practical examinations, certification processing, and post-certification educational support.

How long does it take to become Oxygen Advantage® certified?

The certification combines approximately 100 hours of online learning with three days of immersive practical instruction in Corsica. Participants complete theoretical coursework, practical assessments, supervised field application, and final certification requirements.

Is the credential internationally recognized?

Yes. The Oxygen Advantage® Advanced Instructor Certification (Level 1 & 2) is recognized throughout the international Oxygen Advantage network. Certified instructors may be listed in the public instructor directory and gain access to a global community of practitioners and educators.

What language is the certification delivered in?

The session is delivered in both French and English, adapted to the group. Written examinations may be completed in either language.

Is there post-certification mentorship?

Yes. Certification includes lifetime access to selected educational updates, live sessions, and continuing learning opportunities within the Oxygen Advantage® ecosystem. Additional mentoring options may also be available.

How does this differ from the Buteyko certification?

While both methodologies share common roots in functional breathing, Oxygen Advantage® places greater emphasis on performance, CO₂ tolerance training, exercise integration, and respiratory conditioning. The Buteyko Method focuses more extensively on chronic over-breathing patterns and clinical applications such as asthma, anxiety, and sleep-disordered breathing.

What happens if I do not pass the exam?

Candidates receive individualized feedback and may retake the examination at a later date. The objective of the certification process is competency, understanding, and safe implementation rather than one-time examination performance.
